Account Executive

We are looking for an Account Executive to join our team!

In this role you will have the opportunity to support a corporate client with their purpose, corporate responsibility, DE&I and employee communication initiatives. In this role you will have the potential to work on earned media, thought leadership, strategic and creative planning, research and analytics.

We support our clients with several announcements and thought leadership activations throughout the year, to promote and support their commitments to sustainability, equity, inclusion and community engagement, as well as the programs and employee initiatives that continue to make them a recognized top employer in the Retail industry.

About the Job:

  • Research and write press releases, briefing documents, key messages, Q&As, fact sheets, pitches and other materials 
  • Execute strategic communications plans that ladder up to clients’ business objectives 
  • Support media relations efforts on behalf of clients through pitching compelling stories, implementing media events and building strong relationships with industry and national business media and influencers 
  • Build and maintain media lists 
  • Monitor, analyze and report on relevant client/industry related news 
  • Research and evaluate thought leadership opportunities and speaking engagements for the client 
  • Support development of content and copy for client thought leadership platforms such as LinkedIn 
  • Proofread and edit documents; consolidate team edits; maintain records of supporting reference materials. 
  • Respond to requests for information from clients, team members and other agency employees with accuracy and in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Coordinate team and/or client meetings, including scheduling, meeting room set-up, catering and travel, as appropriate. 
  • Support billing procedures within the team (according to client project) by maintaining billing, invoices and job numbers 
  • Flex to support teams across multiple programs and clients throughout the year depending on campaign launch times

About You:

  • Highly organized and comfortable supporting a large team with multiple programs 
  • Comfortable taking direction and using your initiative 
  • You are a good communicator who is comfortable asking questions 
  • Expresses curiosity, a thirst for knowledge, and are team-oriented 
  • Solid writing skills; good desktop research skills; naturally interested in exploring new topics

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field preferred 
  • 2-3 years of post-undergraduate experience in a public relations agency or a similar position 
  • Ability to work in multi-faceted, fast-paced environment
