The Account Supervisor will contribute to the success of 3-4 accounts with the core responsibilities for building and scaling B2B public relations campaigns. In partnership with the Director of Earned Media/Public Relations, the Account Supervisor will lead and work alongside internal teams to deliver work that is on strategy, on time, and on budget. Successful candidates are strategic and media relations savvy individuals with demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing a wide range of public relations efforts for national and regional B2B brands, specifically in the areas of accounting/financial services, building technology, and/or manufacturing products.

The following is a summary of the specific areas of responsibilities and the expected skillset of an Account Supervisor team member. This opportunity is a 3-month contract position working full-time hours with potential opportunity for hire at the end of the contract dependent upon performance and company and client needs.

Overall Client Leadership:

  • Serves as primary client liaison on public relations strategy with the support of PR account executives. Has excellent written and verbal communication and clearly articulates project goals, objectives, and updates in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the client’s overall business, brand vision and strategy for assigned accounts. Meets with earned media and account management counterparts on an ongoing basis to stay informed of updates/pivots to strategy and adjusts deliverables and outcomes accordingly.
  • Delivers excellence on behalf of BVK and our clients. As such, is a leader on the account from both and internal and client-perspective when it comes to executing and delivering on campaign expectations.

Public Relations Expertise:

  • Serves as the PR strategy lead for a client or project, crafting and providing counsel for the most appropriate PR solution.
  • Alongside the Director of Earned Media/Public Relations leads the development of project-based and year-long public relations strategies in alignment to brand and business objectives, weaving together industry research and knowledge, relevant media landscapes, appropriate PR tactics, and key national, regional, and trade editorial relationships.
  • Guides team assignments and the development of PR plan outputs such as material development, media outreach, and vendor communication. In addition, will also be expected to conduct media outreach to top-tier contacts. Not afraid to roll up sleeves and take a hands-on approach when needed.
  • Understands event and sponsorship management in relationship to PR strategy, such as onsite media interviews, thought leadership presentations, deskside visits, etc.
  • Manages crisis communications support with proven experience in crisis preparation, response, and strategic guidance.
  • Demonstrates an excellent understanding of public relations reporting and monitoring and the importance of communicating the value of public relations to a variety of stakeholders
  • Manages accounts independently and as part of a cross-functional team of strategists, project managers, and creatives.

Business Development:

In partnership with Director of Earned Media/Public Relations, identifies and secures organic growth efforts of assigned accounts and participates in new business efforts as requested.

Fiscal:

  • Oversees budgeting efforts for PR campaigns, including recommending spend levels based on strategic plan and tactics, and works with account integration and accounting teams on billing and reconciliation.
  • Under the oversight of the Director of Earned Media/Public Relations, executes scope of work development for new and existing business utilizing BVK process/tools.

Project Management:

  • Manages client project initiatives from start to finish with limited/minimal oversight. Gains necessary internal/client approvals and keeps client and account team informed of pertinent updates.
  • Oversees project management timelines and internal communications with the support of PR account executives. Leads day-to-day process on assigned accounts and works with PR account executives to identify, communicate and confirm deliverables and clarify team roles and responsibilities, as required.

Training/Supervision/Agency Performance:

  • Guides a group of 1-3 indirect reports per account (AAEs/AEs/SAEs) and focuses on developing on public relations skillset, including strategy development, media outreach, material development, and channel best practices.
  • Contributes to internal team members’ performance evaluation upon request.

Required Skills/Experience /Competencies:

  • 7-10 years agency or comparable business/client-side experience with a strong grasp of all facets of PR strategy and B2B media landscape.
  • Experience successfully managing and executing major B2B PR campaigns with demonstrated results.
  • Experience with PR reporting tools and software (Cision, Meltwater, Klear)
  • Proven track record of partnering with internal and external teams to develop standalone and integrated PR plans.
  • Passion for PR and B2B trends and emerging multi-faceted media relations strategies.
  • Previous technical writing skills a plus.
  • Proven success as a project manager and is able to balance multiple initiatives, clients, deadlines, budgets, and teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, specifically in junior team member supervision and mentorship.
  • High sense of urgency and has an innate sense of curiosity about problem-solving and learning.
  • Ability to pivot/course corrects without becoming overwhelmed.
  • Exemplary organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Projects confidence in front of clients and large internal teams.
  • Computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
