We are looking for an enthusiastic Accounting Manager to be responsible for standard financial reporting, payroll database maintenance and bi-weekly payroll preparation.  The Accounting Manager supervises the accounting department and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. The Accounting Manager should be a competent professional able to juggle multiple tasks, manager a staff of individuals and work with a high level of confidential information.

  • Maintain general ledger financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Prepare all general ledger journal entries for payroll, accruals, fixed assets, cash activity and others as required.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and timely reporting of financial information to the Sr. VP. Finance. (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Backlog)
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Maintain the ADP payroll database; in communication with HR for all pay rate and benefit withholding changes.
  • Provide training to new and existing Accounting staff.
  • Responsible for performance management of direct reports to include; hiring, training, probationary/annual performance reviews.
  • Education – BS Accountancy (4-year BSA) Required, CPA Preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience in the public accounting/audit, financial reporting/general ledger area, preferred.
  • Experience working in a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Must be PC proficient. Experience in Sage Solutions or other large automated accounting system a plus.
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Willing to assist with IT/System Administration.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
