The Fox Cities are 19 communities along the Fox River in east central Wisconsin.  The Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau celebrates and promotes the Fox Cities as a welcoming, safe, and engaging destination for people from all walks of life. We work directly with individuals, families, groups, meeting planners, business leaders, and sports tournament directors to answer questions, make suggestions, optimize plans, and welcome visitors. Our 10-person staff includes professionals in visitor services, sports marketing, group sales, marketing, and communications. Each day we have the priviledge of promoting the destination we call home to potential visitors.

Position Details

Admin & Marketing Assistant
Northeast Wisconsin
Appleton, WI

Provide administrative support to the visitor services and marketing efforts of the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau. Ensure visitors have an exceptional experience by providing accurate and timely information about area hotels, attractions, events and activities.

Marketing Support (50%)

  • Assist with marketing projects as directed by the Marketing Communications Director.
  • Maintain and update the CVB website and related tourism sites. 
  • Assist with Marketing Department projects including photo and video shoots. 
  • Assist with CVB events such as annual Tourism Breakfast 
  • Support the publication of blogs, E-newsletters and social media. 
  • Assist with the Visitor Guide production. 
  • Research, identify, order and inventory promotional gift items needed by sales and marketing staff, ensuring they support brand standards. 

Administrative/Visitor Services (50%)

  • Be the lead staff person to answer telephone calls, and serve as the first point of contact for welcoming visitors, business guests, etc. Assist visitors who contact the CVB via email or other means. Greet walk-in guests in the visitor center, ascertain their needs, and assist them in a friendly and efficient way. 
  • Maintain the information racks in the visitor center. Understand and follow policies about brochure and poster placement in the Visitor Center. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Fox Cities area and industry partners, including but not limited to attractions, events, accommodations and recreation. 
  • Process daily requests for Visitor Guides that come in via phone, email or website to ensure prompt mailing of requested items. Respond to and track visitor inquiries that are received via fax, phone, in-person, email, mail, and through website. 
  • Support maintenance of customer and contact database in updating municipal, elected official and business contacts and ensure they are included in appropriate distribution lists.
  • Provide general administrative support to CVB staff members and the organization overall, including but not limited to, assembling name badges, making phone calls, set up and cleanup for meetings, ordering lunches, assembling gift baskets and giveaways.
  • Minimum of High school diploma with relevant experience. 
  • Associates degree in Marketing or related field preferred. 
  • Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds. 
  • Valid driver’s license
