Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Invenergy Communications team – creating and executing strategies to support Invenergy’s rapidly growing global business. The Communications Analyst will provide media and communications support to Invenergy's External Communications team and other business units as necessary. This position will focus on public relations, media outreach, and message and materials drafting. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.


  • Support and execute communications activities that advance Invenergy’s business and policy goals, promote and protect Invenergy’s external reputation, attract talent, and position Invenergy’s subject matter experts as thought leaders. 
  • Maintain editorial calendars to facilitate planning and coordination. 
  • Research and aid in drafting materials, including press releases, presentations, talking points, fact sheets, newsletters, and digital/social media content. 
  • Craft pitch materials and assist with vetting and responding to media inquiries. 
  • Maintain master media list and identify reporter targets to secure earned media and build Invenergy brand awareness and affinity. 
  • Monitor relevant news coverage. Compile reports using media monitoring platforms and provide analysis of coverage. 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various internal teams (i.e. Government Affairs, Finance, Project Development, Origination) as well as external vendors to stay apprised of project timelines and activities. 
  • Collaborate with Digital and Brand/Creative teams to develop messaging digital content and campaigns for website, blog, and social media channels.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or relevant discipline. 
  • 1-2 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, marketing communications, public relations, publishing, social media or related field. 
  • Agency and/or energy sector experience a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. 
  • Experience developing messaging and collateral materials. 
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail. 
  • Self-starter with a great work ethic who can work under pressure and maintain quality across multiple assignments. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high achieving, entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Ability to travel as needed. 
  • Proficient in media monitoring databases.
