TITLE: Art Director (Print and Web)

REPORTS TO: Manager - Marketing Programs, dotted line to Strategy & Creative Director

BASED AT: Harken, Inc., Pewaukee, WI

STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements appropriately disruptive visual design in support of great marketing ideas.
  • Executes these ideas in omni channel envrionement, including (among others) Advertising, web site front end design, print and digital catalog design, from concepts to final iteration.
  • Constructively explains and advocates for these programs during the internal sales process until they are approved.
  • Has the ability to learn new categories and help establish fresh brand essences for companies as Harken acquires them.
  • Performs other duties as assigned—or when you see they need doing.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in design with a record of advancement, preferably in a high-velocity B-to-C environment.
  • Portfolio of creative work showcasing exceptional creative and conceptual ideas across a wide range of business or brand categories and channels.
  • Ability to judge and critique creative concepts and copy, clearly communicating constructive feedback.
  • Ability to convert consumer insights in the marketing brief into innovative design concepts.
  • Strong communication, planning, time-management and follow-through skills.
  • Expert technical skills in Mac-based Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge in HTML and/or CSS a big plus.
  • Working knowlege of print and e-communications production.
  • Strong sense of urgency
