OVERVIEW:

The Art Director is a highly creative, team-oriented individual who understands how to craft beautiful, intuitive concepts and designs within the context of a retail website environment. The Art Director will work on a broad range of projects from stylized photography, to feature functionality, to video promotions, to augmenting set design. The Art Director will be an active participant in developing ongoing content strategy and will help shape the overall brand experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create designs and visual hierarchy systems, establish the design language, and execute design direction, visual assets, and presentation materials
  • Oversee design and production of daily and weekly assets by category
  • Meet marketing objectives and strategies and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with production to plan outside shoots, including sets, models, storyboards and writing of copy
  • Develop effective use of graphics deployment to maximize effectiveness when needed.
  • Review creative briefs for incoming jobs and develop creative direction in a collaborative effort based on the job request/requirements, types of products to feature and studio logistics.
  • Organize and maintain a heavy workload in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Work with Director of Creative Services to establish brand/event direction then manage process through the asset creative.
  • Establish clean creative concepts for ShopHQ that is consistent with the brand and customer focus
  • Manage expectations for product photography and other assets used on many channels
  • Estimate and manage time accurately and independently; maintain project deadlines and budget
  • Manage the creative process from concept through execution to implementation, including script writing, art direction, proper talent booking, thorough graphic and editing notes, music section and communication with merchandising and producers to ensure key items are featured in the creative process.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a graphic design role or similar capacity strongly preferred
  • Experience working with cross functional teams including marketing, technical (production), photography, copy, and product management required
  • Strong portfolio; clean balanced design, good composition – video examples a must.
  • Ability to speak to design techniques, strong understanding of composition, color, imagery, typography
  • An in-depth knowledge/experience in PhotoShop required
  • Experience in Illustrator & Indesign required
  • Knowledge of video production, post-production and web technologies required
  • Extremely detail oriented, communicative, and organized
  • Strong project management and vendor management skills

To ensure service levels, it is essential that the individual in this role be able to work a regular and reliable schedule as provided by management.

  • Given the significant responsibilities of this role, it is essential that this role be filled on a full-time basis only.
  • It is essential that the duties of this role be performed on-site at iMedia’s facility.
