Zero is a creative studio founded in NYC. We have offices in Milwaukee, Los Angeles, New York, as well as working virtually across the world. Our intention is to create an environment where multidisciplinary teams can solve problems for progressive and contemporary brands. Our studio seeks an individual with a diverse background and ability to operate with a wide array of personalities and varying collaborative environments (both internally and client side). As Art Director for our Content Studio, you will be working directly with the Account Director & Project Leads, brand and studio Art Directors, and Designers to conceptualize and manage content creation efforts across branding, digital, and marketing. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in the digital mediums of social media, e-commerce, and marketing.

Your primary responsibility will be collaborating with our team(s) to create the most effective work possible for the clients and audiences we serve in an enjoyable, engaging, and positive environment. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to building the process for a new service offering at Zero.

Strategic Collaboration

  • Guide small-to-medium and multi-disciplinary teams toward the common goal of executing on strategy
  • Approach every project with a clear purpose and ensure all executions meet client and audience goals, as well as achieve the quality expected at Zero
  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute successful content creation initiatives internally and externally across a range of mediums. 

Entrepreneurial Mindset

  • Contribute to building the process for a new service offering at Zero
  • Understand the creative process, and be able to guide our partners through it
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal systems and increase efficiency
  • Cultivate key relationships with clients while managing and growing account opportunities 

Managing Content Production Phases

  • Strategy & Concepting: Use real-life insights to generate ideas for how content can add value to our clients messaging and brand strategies. Support the team in delivering compelling presentations to demonstrate that value and sell-in the studio’s creative ideas.
  • Pre-production: Organize and communicate with the multiple contributors to content productions (internal team, client team, third party talent). Work with the Zero and client teams to develop shoot plans.
  • Content Creation: Work with all parties to ensure a successful execution of content both on-set and the facilitation of information for 3D designers.
  • Post-production: Work with designers, photographers, 3D designers and clients to distill active feedback notes and finalize approved assets for use. Communicate and ensure proper usage rights for content produced by Zero and our partners.

Passion for design, art direction, & brand storytelling. The ability to direct photoshoots is key. This role will work alongside design directors and designers to establish ownable looks for our clients. The Art Director position is not a design job.

  • 2-3 years experience in a product or marketing role in a design, art direction, and content creation focused environment
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • You have experience completing one or more of the following: launching a digital product, launching a marketing campaign, concepting and developing the rollout of a rebranding effort, concepting digital or traditional campaigns and have a portfolio demonstrating this.
  • Experience in concepting and creating content for D2C brands. CPG experience is a big plus.
  • You have experience managing the phases of content productions
  • You have experience developing social media content strategies and content calendars
  • You have experience managing brands' social media accounts
