This position has multiple responsibilities, which include developing and producing print and online content for Lessiter Media trade publications. The Assistant Editor will help in editorial planning and execution, including working with other staff and freelancers to determine feature story topics, assignments and deadlines. This person will coordinate production of both print and online content, including writing, editing and ensuring quality standards and deadlines are consistently met. This is an ideal position for the candidate who wants to learn and work with content across media types.

Help in planning and scheduling high-quality feature stories, departments, columns and other editorial items for print and online. Collaboration with multiple departments for development and production of diverse editorial content. This position requires a flexible, adaptable attitude, with the ability to learn, understand and simplify technical and business information for niche audiences. Periodic travel is a requirement.

Requirements:

  • College degree in journalism or related field.
  • Strong understanding of professional publishing business.
  • Stellar grammar and spelling skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Asana a plus.
  • Experienced with social networking, content management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, both written and oral.
  • Fast learner, extremely meticulous, independent and self-directed.
