WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Hoffman York is looking for an Assistant Media Planner to join Hoffman York’s upbeat, analytical-minded, and problem-solving media team. Candidates must have an entry-level background in the field and have a passion for the important role that the media team plays in delivering ROI for our clients. At HY, our media team uses research and data to identify target audiences and the optimal paid media placements that will connect with them throughout their decision journey. Assistant Media Planners have a foundational understanding of media; therefore, can think ahead to the next step in the advertising process. Media team members are responsible for recommending media plans that are backed with supportive research and data and activating media buys that are on strategy, on budget and on time. The team is relied on by the agency and our clients to measure results and find new ways to optimize campaigns.

This position reports to the Media Supervisors/Directors and assists Media Planners and Specialists while collaborating with other agency departments.

While creativity is exemplified in how we use research and data to tell a story, HY media professionals are not responsible for the copywriting, design or production of the various creative assets handled by our creative department or public relations handled by our PR department.

This is a full-time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviewing research studies to pull out insights that help frame a discussion and a recommended approach. Planning, buying, and reporting on all forms of national and local media including but not limited to TV, video, radio, streaming audio, print, outdoor, native ads, social ads, paid search ads and other forms of digital.

Writing thoughtful, concise, well-organized emails, document summaries and Power Point presentations.

Creating visually clean Microsoft Office charts, graphs, and tables.

Trafficking and tagging creative assets.

Multi-tasking and managing multiple projects in tandem in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.

Coordinating buys with vendors and sales representatives including organizing proposal submissions, negotiating, clarifying details of the media buy, and ensuring buys are fulfilled as ordered.

Become proficient in the operation of all agency computer software and systems (e.g. Kantar, IMS, Sizmek) and manage media buys in self-serve platforms (e.g. Facebook/Instagram, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, HY Trade Desk).

Basic training in the HY Trade Desk, the agency’s in-house demand-side-platform and data-management-platform for digital advertising.

Training and use of Datorama, the agency’s dashboard tool for real-time, integrated reporting. Use of HY’s third-party auditing tools to track media performance, audience delivery and proactively suggest optimizations for future campaigns to the team.

Maintaining organized and accurate budget tracking sheets and reconciling billing in our Nexelus billing system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1-3 years of experience working in a media role.

A university or college degree in Advertising, Business, Analytics, or a related field. Experience with buying both digital and offline media.

Meticulous budget tracking skills, accuracy with numbers and creating formulas, and success working with research and data.

Examples of adept use of media technology for planning, buying, and reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)

Well-structured and grammatically-sound writing abilities for writing English-language emails, documents and presentations that are shared both internally and externally to employees, vendors, and clients. Positive references indicating proactivity, reliability, accuracy, and collaboration.
