Reporting to the Video Producer, the Assistant Video Producer works to advance the ministry of Awana by helping create videos for curriculum, social media, and marketing. This position’s primary focus is capturing and delivering video content for the organization’s various departments. This position will collaborate primarily with the Video Producer, our Creative and Communications teams, and other clients as necessary. This position is primarily remote with the ability to report to the St. Charles, IL office as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Video Producer and staff to conceptualize, produce and deliver video content. 
  • Assists the Video Producer as needed during production with an emphasis on audio recording. 
  • Works with lights, cameras, set design, and troubleshoots issues that may arise on set. 
  • Setsup and tears down production equipment. 
  • Shoots and edits assigned video content independently. 
  • Organizes files, syncs sound to picture, selects music, and inserts closed captions and existing motion graphics. 
  • Mixes sound and color grades and adjusts based on feedback. 
  • Develops, maintains, and organizes the organization’s media archive. 
  • Supports, upholds, and demonstrates the Awana cultural values in internal and external communications and relationships. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum 2-5 years related experience in filmmaking/videography AND/OR certificate/associate’s/bachelor's with a concentration in film or media studies. 
  • Intermediate experience with Premiere Pro, Audition, Media Encoder, and Davinci Resolve. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once. 
  • Passionate about filmmaking and creating video content. 
  • Experience shooting live events, interviews, corporate promos, or social media content preferred. 
  • Desire to learn documentary storytelling. 
  • Experience with proxy workflows preferred. 
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time. 
  • Valid State driver’s license and current passport.

Spiritual Life:

Must be a born-again Christian. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Must be in agreement with the Awana Doctrinal Statement. Must be in fellowship with the body of Christ through a local church. Regularly engages in reading the Holy Bible as a guide and standard for living.
