The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s highly ranked School of Education is looking to build upon its excellence by actively seeking talented and diverse candidates to become its next Associate Dean for Communications and Advancement. According to the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings, UW-Madison is home to the fourth-ranked school of education in the nation — marking the eighth straight year we’ve been rated among the top five. The depth and breadth of outstanding programs, and dedicated and innovative faculty and staff are what make this place so special. And the next Associate Dean will play an integral and influential role with us by leading the Office of Communications and Advancement, which oversees and implements a range of communications, marketing, and advancement efforts across the School of Education, its 10 Departments, and additional units. Degree Requirements:

  • Master's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in communications, marketing, or development/advancement, with an emphasis on strategic marketing and communications, reputation management, and content development across multiple platforms.
  • Experience leading a marketing, communications, and/or advancement team in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experience in higher education, non-profit, or government organizations preferred.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills; an active listener with acute distillation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
