Position Summary:

The Associate Dean of Marketing & Outreach exists to provide overall leadership and supervision for the marketing, web, and Outreach strategies for Minnesota State Community and Technical College. The position exists to align internal and external messaging with the goals and mission of the college and the students we teach and serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of communications and marketing.
  • Operational leadership/management of outreach strategies.
  • Exercise supervisory authority so that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered, enforce and implement equal opportunity and affirmative action policies, procedures, and programs within functional area of responsibility.
  • Leadership of student relationship management (CRM).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement and Outreach to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization. Must be able to travel to meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 3 years’ experience with related responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of effective systems for sales, admissions, or Outreach strategies.
  • Skill in written, oral and presentation communications, human relations, and leadership.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, change systems, solve problems, improve service, resolve conflicts and work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated management, budgeting, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Meeting travel required frequently, conference/overnight travel required once or twice per year.
  • Evidence of a strong and clear commitment to the value of diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in related field. 
  • Experience writing, proofing, and editing for various media. 
  • Experience with media relations. 
  • Knowledge of web-based social networking marketing strategies. 
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate successful marketing strategies. 
  • Ability to interpret data and develop and evaluate marketing strategies. 
  • Experience with collective bargaining and contract administration.
