Associate Director - Communication and Marketing
Southeast Wisconsin
St. Francis, WI

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has an opportunity for a results-oriented and strategic communication and marketing professional to join the Office of Communication team. The Associate Director of Communication and Marketing provides planning, oversight and implementation of multi-channel campaigns to increase enrollment at Catholic schools throughout the archdiocese, and also manages the Development Office's communication needs.

This is an opportunity to elevate the Catholic schools brand, telling the story of what differentiates Catholic schools and why parents should invest in their child's future. The ideal candidate will have diverse communications and marketing experience including brand management, strategic planning, digital engagement and project management. The incumbent will be expected to balance their time and energy on big-picture thinking and strategy while also delivering on tactical functions.


  • Partner with school administrators regarding marketing, public relations and promotional efforts. 
  • Assess needs and develop effective recruitment strategies, materials, and training for school personnel. 
  • Track marketing results and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Direct work of outside agency and vendors. Provide website content management for the Catholic Schools website and the archdiocesan website. 
  • Coordinate social media, video and print materials as well as media relations.


  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline is required. 
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in the communication and marketing industry, including proven marketing results and project management experience. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications strategy and technologies. 
  • Experience managing digital communications content including social media campaigns and analytics, website content management and search engine analytics. 
  • Experience with media relations and success with pitching stories and gaining coverage. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including impeccable copywriting and copy editing abilities. 
  • Experience managing a budget and working with outside vendors. 
  • Able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word. 
  • Experience within a non-profit organization is desired. 
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Catholic schools preferred. 
  • It is expected that the individual who is hired for this position will not speak on behalf of any other organization while a member of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee communications staff. 
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The position is a full-time, salaried position working in-person at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Pastoral Center.

  • Occasional weekend and evening assignments and occasional travel throughout the archdiocese are involved.
