Position Summary:

TEPEZZA® (teprotumumab-trbw) is the first and only FDA-approved treatment for Thyroid Eye Disease and Horizon’s first product launch. With the ever-changing clinical environment, consumer marketing is one of the key pillars in driving the brand’s success. This role provides an exciting opportunity to help shape the TEPEZZA brand and the Thyroid Eye Disease market. The Associate Director will support consumer marketing initiatives to drive patient demand for TEPEZZA.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) and the unique characteristics of TED patients 
  • Develop overarching patient acquisition strategy, working with members of the consumer team and cross-functional partners 
  • Optimize TV/video media channels (Linear TV, Addressable TV, Connected TV, and multiple online video platforms) across multiple creative campaigns 
  • Develop new mass market creative assets, including TV and print 
  • Oversee cross-agency communications to ensure brand messages are appropriately pulled through multiple channels 
  • Create a seamless patient experience in moving from unbranded to branded communications 
  • Manage, grow, and enhance Patient Ambassador program 
  • Explore and implement opportunities to expand the brand’s social presence, in partnership with the Corporate Communications team 
  • Find opportunities to support and enhance the efforts of the Advocacy and Corporate Communication teams 
  • Participate in annual brand planning process, including development of consumer-related objectives and measures 
  • Develop measurement plans and report on recommendations to optimize initiatives 
  • Oversee database updates and integrations to enhance analytics reporting 
  • Explore new media channels to intercept TED patients in their day-to-day life 
  • Foster strong partnerships with multiple teams, including: Corporate Communications, Advocacy, Market Research, Horizon Patient Services, HCP marketing, and Regulatory/Legal/Medical 
  • Effectively manage multiple agency partners

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • BA/BS degree required 
  • 8+ years of consumer marketing experience required; agency applicants welcome 
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and/or other healthcare industries preferred 
  • Experience in developing broadcast TV ads, from concept creation through implementation 
  • Experience in mass market print creative development and implementation 
  • Proven proficiency in digital channels, including: social, display, online video, and paid search 
  • Proven ability to find insights in analytics data and effectively apply these to optimize campaigns 
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer market research methodologies, including: behavioral segmentation; Awareness, Attitudes, and Usage (AAU); and ethnographic 
  • Strong team player with demonstrated success as a valued colleague within a cross-functional team 
  • Proven self-starter with a desire to grow and learn – and teach others 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market and organizational growth dynamics 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to travel to various company meetings, patient events, and meetings with partner agencies. Approximately 15-20% travel (after company COVID travel restrictions are lifted)
