Christopher House is searching for an Associate Director of Development looking to grow professionally in the field of fundraising. Candidates must possess an interest for non-profit fundraising, including day-to-day operations, database management, event planning, stewardship activities, and individual giving.

Position Objectives:

The Associate Director of Development is responsible for ensuring efficient implementation of the fundraising plan to meet the Fiscal Year 2021 annual revenue goal of $2.1 million and reach higher revenue goals each year.

The Associate Director of Development is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the fundraising plan, which includes the stewardship of annual fund donors, planning cultivation events, managing volunteers, conducting prospect research, managing the fundraising database, creating monthly financial reports, and supporting the work of the External Affairs Team.

The Associate Director of Development reports to the Director of External Affairs and manages the External Affairs Assistant.

Supervises: External Affairs Assistant

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the front-facing relationship manager, in collaboration with the Director of External Affairs, for a portfolio of annual fund donors and prospects. 
  • Manage Raiser’s Edge database to ensure accurate data entry, including donor records, fundraising actions, and constituent coding. 
  • Create timely reports on budget, revenue and projections. 
  • Support implementation of annual donor mailings, including accurate and thoughtful list segmentation.
  • Manage volunteers to ensure proper stewardship, cultivation and conversion. 
  • As appropriate, personally solicit support for special events, primarily the Annual Benefit which has a 2021 annual revenue goal of $550,000. 
  • Plan and mange logistics for development cultivation events.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years work experience in a fundraising position. 
  • Proven success in managing a comprehensive set of development functions, with an emphasis on individual giving. 
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in management. 
  • Ability to motivate staff members and establish a supportive environment while ensuring tight execution of the annual fundraising plan. 
  • Goal-oriented and a self-starter looking to grow professionally in the field of fundraising. 
  • Willingness to take initiative. 
  • Excellent office and computer skills, and significant experience with a fundraising database, preferably Raiser’s Edge. 
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to motivate and build a rapport with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, board, volunteers and donors. 
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness when faced with dynamic priorities and needs. 
  • Demonstrated belief in Christopher House’s mission and values.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
