Associate Director of Paid Search

Reports to Group Media Director/Media Director.

We’re on the search (pun intended) for an experienced leader and hands-on keyword guru to run and elevate Colle McVoy’s established paid search practice. The ideal candidate should possess a “player/coach” mentality and approach to this role. Player: be active in both recommending and managing our paid search campaigns across multiple clients; Coach: deliver search-based thought leadership to support teams, while elevating the importance of this channel/practice to internal and external audiences. While dedicated to paid search, we’re also seeking someone who understands performance media and is curious, collaborative, outgoing and passionate about not only about their craft but all things media, data, marketing and culture.


  • Manage day-to-day paid search responsibilities across multiple clients associated with Google AdWords, including keyword creation and optimization, ad copy creation and A/B testing, and keyword bid management 
  • Collaborate with media strategy/planning teams to advise, create and manage paid search media recommendations across multiple clients 
  • Manage Google Display Network placement, remarketing, and audience targeting 
  • Provide client reporting and insights based on client goals 
  • Manage set-up, optimization, and reporting on YouTube pre-roll campaigns (TrueView and Bumper videos). 
  • Partner with our SEO specialists on holistic search recommendations (organic, paid) 
  • Develop and facilitate external media partner relationships 
  • Proactively report on leading search-based tools/platforms to evolve agency capabilities and expand cross-discipline education 
  • Report on industry trends and provide point-of-view documents to internal and external teams 
  • Partner with Insight (brand strategy), Data Science and Brand Leadership (account management) teams to create paid search-based audience and campaign insights 
  • Actively grow the agency’s paid search practice and expand the internal team

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6-year paid search experience, preferably agency side 
  • Experience with bid management platforms (e.g. Marin Software, Kenshoo). 
  • Strong experience in Excel, PowerPoint and Google Analytics 
  • Google Search Certification preferred 
  • Confident and resourceful, can function with minimal supervision 
  • Able to manage teams both direct and indirect reports 
  • Eager to learn within a collaborative team setting 
  • Has excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize effectively


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 
  • Ability to travel as needed
