Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Social Media is responsible for establishing the strategic approach and overseeing the execution of all Life Time master-brand and club-level social media content and community management. The Associate Director sets the strategy for creating engaging, brand-right social media content across our main social media channels, while charting the strategy for additional channel exploration and Team Member engagement.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing and evolving the vision for Life Time’s social media channels 
  • Accountable for strategizing, structuring and activating the Masterbrand social media initiatives 
  • Drive Member and Team Member social media engagement and user-generated content across all social media platforms 
  • Support and drive social media initiatives across Life Time business units in partnership with key stakeholders 
  • Pitch ideas to strategically integrate social in a meaningful way to support identified business and branding initiatives 
  • Develop KPIs and performance benchmarks in partnership with the Content Manager 
  • Drive career development within the core social media team and set the tone for personal brand development across our Team Member base 
  • Act as a primary stakeholder in development and delivering a digital ecosystem that drives revenue value throughout the membership lifecycle 
  • Stay current with social platform tech and trend developments and best practices in an effort to push innovative concepts and test/learn campaigns 
  • Collaborate with the Life Time Creative Agency to ensure that all project priorities are clear, aligned and approved, and all process requirements (e.g. ensuring proper documentation and ability to deliver with available resources) are addressed to ensure the success of each initiative

Position Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field 
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in social media and digital marketing 
  • Previous leadership experience 
  • Previous influencer and event marketing experience 
  • Ability to reset and establish priorities in a fast-paced work environment 
  • Team oriented, collaborative and resilient

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to drive and evaluate copy for brand voice with strong writing, editing and language skills 
  • Ability to evaluate art/design needs and asset development through the brand lens 
  • Strong ability to understand photography needs for mobile-first content and various platform best-practices 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and proven ability to take initiative to connect all stakeholders and resources 
  • Ability to handle and resolve client conflicts in a professional, tactful manner 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Members and Team Members 
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures and computer software, including experience with Project Management Tools 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines independently and within a team environment 
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions 
  • Effective project management, relationship management, approval management and project prioritization skills 
  • A strong work ethic, and relentless commitment to quality and efficiency
