Job Summary:

TruChoice’s associate event planner will assist the event team to produce numerous events from conception to completion. Our clients expect world-class experiences that are memorable, high touch, and justify their time away from their businesses. The ideal candidate is passionate, creative, detail-oriented, client-centric, and has an eye on the budget. This role requires an individual who is familiar with event planning and can independently manage smaller events while being able to work as part of a team to produce our larger signature events. Additionally, the role requires excellent customer service skills, ability to problem solve, and the ability to effectively work with sales and marketing teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The following reflects duties for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time for business reasons.

  • Assist the senior event planner plan, design, and produce a high number of events, ranging from small group single day events to larger 200+ attendee multi-day events. 
  • Support senior events planner with logistical and administrative support, including contract review, venue sourcing, budget analysis, event registration, etc. 
  • Independently provide on-site execution of small group events. 
  • Organize and manage assigned event details, such as décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional materials, etc., for larger events. 
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day. 
  • Liaise with internal clients to identify their needs and to ensure satisfaction. 
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality. 
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in event management, marketing, hospitality, public relations, or related discipline 
  • 2+ years of event management experience 
  • Flexibility and ability to travel domestically and internationally (ability to travel 25+%)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven success in event planning or coordination 
  • Experience with Cvent event management software preferred 
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred 
  • Ability to handle pressure and make good decisions quickly 
  • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail 
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams 
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office
