Position Details

Associate Graphic Designer
Twin Cities Metro
Minnetonka, MN

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Digital Design

  • Work as part of the marketing team to design and develop creative assets to support business goals 
  • Primarily work within marketing department for overall marketing design needs but will also provide support for occasional business development digital asset creation 
  • Be comfortable designing for web including desktop, mobile, tablet, email, display ads, and social media assets 
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to execute designs based on cross-platform editorial calendars that sync with the strategy and seasonality of the business 
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate design data, metrics, insights, and best practices, and then acting on the information 
  • Create ads and ad variations for cross channel digital advertising efforts

Email Marketing Execution

  • Assist with email creation in a marketing automation platform using basic HTML skills (creative development, image asset creation, copywriting, post-implementation analysis)

Social Media Execution

  • Assist with the design, editing, and publishing of daily social media content (text, images, video, etc) that builds meaningful connections with Merchology customers and prospects and encourages community members to take action

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with print design and layout projects 
  • Assist with internal product photography 
  • Help support various aspects of overall company branding


  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, web/graphic design, digital content creation or related field 
  • Extensive experience working in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc) 
  • Proven experience working in graphic design 
  • Proven experience working in social media, email marketing, or digital media 
  • Exceptional consulting, copywriting, copy editing, presentation, and communication skills 
  • Understanding of HTML and email design best practices across desktop, mobile, and tablet 
  • Be comfortable writing for web including desktop, mobile, tablet, email, display ads, and social media assets 
  • Demonstrate ability to apply analytical skills to content creation 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a marketing team 
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines 
  • Must be flexible about working in a high-growth, evolving company, with awareness about the opportunities and challenges that come with a highly adaptive environment

Desired Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience working in an email marketing automation tool (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, etc.) 
  • Analytics experience (Google Analytics, social media analytics tools, email analytics) 
  • Experience with multi-platform digital marketing and advertising campaigns 
  • Photography skills and knowledge of photography best practices
