Our Department:

The Marketing Team develops and executes the SWF residential marketing strategy to position our brands as market leaders and drive brand awareness and consumer engagement while continually improving the consumer’s experience. Marketing at SWF is a fast-paced and dynamic group providing a vital role with our work often being the first impression consumers have of our brands. This is a group of marketing enthusiasts who are motivated by a passion for providing our consumers with a Best Experience.

The associate graphic designer role is on the Creative Services team, a creative powerhouse within the larger Marketing Team at SWF. Creative Services is made up of graphic design, copywriting, and photography, and contributes to new product launches and day-to-day projects across the SWF family of brands. Creative team members work together to concept and develop exciting work that achieves goals, adheres to brand standards, and always keeps the consumer front of mind.

Mission:

The associate graphic designer is an integral member of the creative services team. This role works on brand creative projects and supports both digital and print priorities. Working closely with copywriters, fellow graphic designers, and marketing managers, the associate graphic designer completes projects on-brand and on-time and isn’t afraid to ask questions or pitch new ideas.

A successful candidate will be excited about graphic design, passionate about an opportunity to work and learn in fast-paced organization, and will bring a can-do attitude every day.

Objectives:

Design

  • Concepts and designs marketing materials for assigned brands. 
  • Prepares art with appropriate composition, layout, and design while adhering to technical specifications for print and digital. 
  • Completes assignments in a meticulous, efficient manner while supporting company goals and objectives. 
  • Coordinates with channel marketing and marketing manager to insure the priority and timeliness of all projects. 
  • Partners with other staff designers as needed. 
  • Conducts creative reviews on assigned projects. 
  • Organizes and maintains all artwork files. 
  • Maintains awareness of graphic design and home trends and competitors’ offerings as related to consumer marketing. 
  • Maintains working knowledge of current software programs used for print and interactive design. 
  • Performs other duties as required.

Liaison

  • Provides primary communication point for assigned projects 
  • Meets directly with project initiators 
  • Attends meetings for creative development and design input or presentations 
  • Reports on project status as well as issues and implications to other areas

Planning/Analysis/Strategy Development

  • Quality - Integrates quality at the source thinking and activities in daily, individual, team and project work. (Applies to all job duties 100%) 
  • Utilizes quality/process tools and methodology in daily individual work 
  • Defines and documents individual processes within sphere of control 
  • Improves processes within sphere of control 
  • Identifies waste and rework and enacts plan to improve/solve 
  • Checks satisfaction of internal customers through use of quality tools and Customer/Supplier metrics

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Education Required: Associate Degree in graphic design or related field 
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred 
  • Minimum Job-Related Experience Required: 1-3 years creative development and production experience 
  • Experience must demonstrate proven ability to develop original concepts adhere to brand standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Thorough knowledge of design and design concepts 
  • Must possess clean, modern design sense, as well as the ability to apply that sense during the design problem-solving process 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail oriented with a strong work ethic. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, in a fast paced environment. 
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage projects on a daily basis. 
  • Must display good communication and team-oriented/collaborative skills 
  • Produces results with speed and efficiency. 
  • Appropriately partners with manager to work though barriers or roadblocks.
