The UW-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts invites applicants for the position of Associate Lecturer or Lecturer to teach courses in the Art and Design Department beginning in the Fall 2019 semester.

The 15-week courses could include the areas of Art Education, Ceramics, Community Arts, Design & Visual Communication, Digital Fabrication &Design, Digital Studio Practice, Fibers, Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Painting/Drawing, Photography, Print/Narrative Forms, Sculpture, Writing and Critical Thinking, and Foundations/First-Year Program/General. The responsibilities will vary by program; however, general responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: teaching courses within these programs and working collaboratively with area faculty to maintain a vital curriculum; foster a sense of community and students individual development; and actively participate in area activities.

This position is posted with the intent to create a pool of candidates in anticipation of future openings to fill part-time instructional needs. Available positions will be based on instructional needs for the upcoming academic term, and consideration for each availability will be based on the area of interest identified in the posting-specific questions.

Qualified candidates must possess a terminal degree appropriate to their field or a Bachelors degree with commensurate professional experience (degree must be granted by date of hire). Preferred qualifications for the position include a Master of Fine Art (MFA) degree; teaching experience; and professional experience in the areas of expertise. Please note that candidates must also possess a teaching license to be considered for instruction in Art Education. Further qualifications may be reviewed based on specific instructional needs for each term.

Title determination and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
