WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

The Associate Manager for Internal Communications will craft and oversee an integrated multi-channel, multi-media internal communication strategy that bolsters pride, engagement, belonging, and retention of team members. Reporting into the Marketing Communications Mgr, this individual will establish and lead a communications team comprised of Marketing, Human Resources, Community and an executive team to ensure alignment across all segments of internal communications. This leader will drive collaboration with the executive leadership team and internal stakeholders, providing strategic communications counsel and consistent corporate messaging that supports the business strategy, culture, and brand through all communication channels.

Communications Strategy & Planning – 40%

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve our messaging, communications channels, and content to deliver on internal communications objectives. 
  • Customize content and methods as needed to effectively engage both our Corporate and Distribution Center teams. 
  • Maintain communications and content/editorial calendars. 
  • Partner with leaders and project teams to create strategic communications and tactical plans to support special projects and initiatives, including those related to our strategy, purpose, and values. 
  • Continually measure the effectiveness of communication channels to assess whether they are meeting the needs of both QBP and our teams.

Executive Communications – 15%

  • Provide counsel to the executive team on communications methods, messaging, and crisis communications. 
  • Write companywide emails, letters, and video scripts for the executive team. 
  • Support the development of executive presentations.

Intranet – 10%

  • Co-own internal communication platforms in partnership with IT, Community and HR teams.
  • Develop governance and lead plans to optimize a central hub for internal communications and information. 
  • Write and update content for site pages and news posts.

All-Company Meetings – 5%

  • In collaboration with executive leadership, HR and Marketing, manage quarterly Road Show content for President and corporate teams 
  • Create and send invitations, propose agenda points, develop slides and key messages in partnership with the executive team. 
  • Support HR’s facilitation of meetings at HQ and each of our US-based distribution centers.

Newsletters - 5%

  • Plan, produce, and publish articles. 
  • Provide input and guidance for regular publication of articles from other departments.

Additional Communications - 5%

  • Edit and publish emails and other internal communications produced by HR, IT, Finance, Safety, Community, DEI employee resource groups (ERGs), and other groups. 

Project Management – 5%

  • Manage special projects, as needed. 

Digital Media – 10%

  • In coordination with Marketing department’s creative services and project management team, plan, schedule, shoot, and produce videos to engage and inform employees. 
  • Support HR in the maintaining of communications platforms including bulletin boards for distribution centers and newsletter posts. 

Budget Management - 5%

  • Plan and manage annual budget for internal communications function.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of PR agency or corporate brand experience with experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Comfortable working with executives and leading proactive and reactive business driving opportunities 
  • Excellent communication abilities, written and verbal; internal and external 
  • Effectively manage time, multi-task and prioritize duties, operates with sense of urgency 
  • Sophisticated analytical skills, ability to translate complex data and trends into actionable strategy 
  • Experience producing written communications, scripts, talking points, and visually appealing presentations for executive leadership 
  • Experience managing content and communications strategy for a dynamic intranet site
  • Experience developing communications strategies and tactical plans to engage diverse audiences 
  • Experience and high level of comfort working with internal communications software and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams) 
  • Gifted writer and editor with a friendly and inclusive tone 
  • Curious, thoughtful, and creative 
  • Organized, plans time well, pays attention to detail 
  • Proven ability to build strong, trusting relationships at all levels of the business 
  • Ability to advance multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing competing workloads to meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or BA in public relations, mass communications, journalism, or related field 
  • Experience writing and producing content for a variety of digital platforms 
  • Confident partnering with and providing counsel to executive leadership on every-day and crisis communications
