As a member of the New Platform Development team, the Associate Marketing Manager, NPD, will drive the divisions' growth objectives by contributing to opportunity identification, consumer and customer insights, financial profiles and business cases, idea creation and validation, product development, product buy-in and budget management.

Remote work option on Mondays and Fridays.

Compressed work week option: 1/2 day Fridays.

What You Do.

Opportunity Identification

  • Contributes to assessing the landscape to identify new product growth opportunities, including industry analyses, marketplace trend identification, category/competition assessment, supplier assessment, customer/channel opportunities and company strengths
  • Demonstrates understanding of competition and market dynamics by pulling Nielsen/IRI data information and presenting conclusions

Consumer & Customer Insights

  • Contributes to identifying and prioritizing actionable insights by partnering with Insights, IMC and Sales
  • Assists with crafting insights based on unmet needs, jobs to be done, ratings and reviews, search patterns and market dynamics

Idea Creation & Validation

  • Assists in the creation of new product ideas, including ideation, seedling development, clear and compelling product positioning, product packaging and artwork, pricing and sizing, concept writing and concept testing 
  • Assists with clear, concise, and inspiring product rendering briefs to bring new product ideas to life

Financial Profiles & Business Cases

  • Assists with the development of financial profiles of new products and business cases outlining financial attractiveness and market potential

Product Development

  • Assists with large new platform development projects and/or drives smaller projects from idea to execution 
  • Works with cross-functional team (Project Management, R&D, Finance, Operations, Sales and Core Marketing) to build the total new product offering, go-to-market strategy and business proposition

Product Buy-in

  • Assists in the buy-in of new products, including key presentations, Sales selling materials, cross-functional alignment, production readiness and Core Marketing handover

Budget Management

  • Sets up Purchase Orders in a timely fashion 
  • Tracks spending to ensure programs come in on budget; identify over/under spends 
  • Forms good relationships with Finance and Accounts Payables

Your Education and Experience:

  • Ideally 3+ years of Marketing/NPD experience in Top-Tier CPG, Food or Cheese/Dairy 
  • BA/BS required; MBA strongly preferred 
  • Branded Core Mktg experience required 
  • NPD experience strongly preferred – consumer insights, ideation, product development, project management 
  • Cross-functional leadership experience preferred
