Digital Audience Development Manager
Southeast Wisconsin

Kalmbach Media, a multichannel media and marketing company serving passionate enthusiast communities, is looking for an individual to help lead the company through an exciting digital transformation. We are currently seeking a goal-driven, results-oriented person who loves growing and engaging audiences on digital and social media platforms to lead our audience development team. As part of our digital marketing department, this person will develop and implement strategies to grow website traffic and engagement across Kalmbach's leading science and hobby brands and help convert website visitors into email subscribers and/or customers. The audience development manager needs strong interpersonal skills and must enjoy working in a team environment; collaborating with cross-functional team members to meet business goals is critical to our success.


  • Manage audience development team and align and collaborate with content creators to achieve overall digital growth goals. 
  • Work with digital content teams to effectively implement strategies that build and support targeted audience growth and engagement. 
  • Plan and execute website-to-email conversion strategies to grow newsletter and email marketing lists. 
  • Manage website traffic and email sign-up goals; provide regular reporting on website and email metrics; turn complex analytics into actionable insights to drive audience growth and engagement across all Kalmbach brands. 
  • Regularly monitor brands' SEO and social media activities and develop recommendations accordingly. 
  • Maintain a full and thorough understanding of content management system, email newsletter practices and all other digital tools being used to achieve brand goals. 
  • Work with brand business teams on digital strategies pertaining to online content; coordinate closely with all necessary stakeholders to ensure goals are aligned.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related field 
  • 5+ years of experience developing audience growth strategies, using data-driven approaches to implement conversion tactics, working with content teams or related work experience; experience in publishing/media industry is a plus. 
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, with keyword research and SEO campaign development experience a plus. 
  • Goal and data driven, with the ability to adapt as needed to address challenges and opportunities. 
  • Prior Experience managing a team.
