Badger Talks engages Wisconsin residents on topics they care about and by sharing the latest information and research of UW faculty, staff and graduate students through virtual and in-person presentations, workshops and performances.

The Badger Talks Coordinator is responsible for coordinating program logistics, marketing, and communications. 

Responsibilities include:

  • 10% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
  • 25% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of Badger Talks
  • 10% Develops and evaluates programs and provides recommendations for improvement
  • 15% May assist with monitioring the program budget spending
  • 20% Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
  • 15% Helps coordinate marketing and social media for all Badger Talks public events, including email and web updates
  • 5% Serves as HR liaison for new student hires - I9s, timesheet training, laptop issues

We value work-life balance. This role may be filled at 80-100% time (approximately 32-40 hours per week). Employees have the flexibility to work remotely at least part-time depending on their responsibilities. 

Required:

  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • General professional office experience utilizing a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment
  • Previous experience handling complex processes/systems/events
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer service skills with outstanding written and oral communication
  • Basic marketing knowledge - experience with email systems, digital and print ads, and general graphic design standards
  • Experience with creating content and managing audiences on social media; 
  • Experience working with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and/or Twitter channel(s)
  • Positive, "can-do" attitude and motivation for change/growth 

Preferred:

  • Experience with registration software systems
  • Experience with design software
  • Previous event experience

Minimum salary: $42,600 annual (12 months)

Actual starting salary will depend on candidate's qualifications.
