The Brand & Content Strategist leads the planning, creation, and optimization of content across multiple digital channels. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of content marketing, SEO best practices, and audience engagement. The Content Strategist develops high-impact content and copy for web experiences, landing pages, social media, lead forms, emails, dealer enablement tools, and omnichannel campaigns that supports the customer purchase journey and drives traffic and leads. The role oversees internal and external resources involved in content creation/optimization and partners closely with channel owners to ensure the unique content needs of each channel are met.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Content strategy and planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with business goals, brand voice, and target audience needs. Create and manage the overall content workflow and content calendar to empower effective and on-time delivery of content for all channels and find opportunities to leverage content across channels.

  • Content writing and development: Write, edit, and/or oversee the creation of high-performing content to support awareness, consideration, and action across web, email, and social channels. Develop a deep understanding of the homeowner purchase journey to ensure all content supports some aspect of that journey. Work with the sales team on content that supports dealers and lead conversion efforts.

  • Keyword strategy and SEO: Optimize digital content to support the business’s organic keyword ranking strategy and SEO objectives, both short-term and long-term. Identify and create new pieces of content as needed to advance this strategy.

  • Content measurement and performance reporting: Establish metrics for measuring the performance of content for each channel and develop a regular reporting cadence for sharing performance insights and improvement opportunities with channel owners/stakeholders. Identify opportunities to optimize content in all channels and proactively propose solutions for under-performing content.

  • Promotions and product support:  Develop the omnichannel consumer communications needed to support one-time events such as promotions or new product launches. Monitor the creative impact during promotions and make any necessary changes to maximize promotion efficiency. Collaborate with the product team and creative agency on a messaging matrix and collateral to support new product launches

  • Content and creative review: Review any content or creative developed by third parties or agency partners to ensure it supports the brand voice and the business goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field

  • At least 7 years of experience creating content and content strategy for a variety of digital channels within a lead generation or ecommerce environment

  • At least 3 years of experience managing other content creators (internal copywriters/content specialists, agencies, contractors, etc.) in support of an overall omnichannel content strategy

  • In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices and a track record of growing organic traffic

  • Proven writing and editing skills and expertise in a variety of different content formats (blog, infographic, multimedia, social post, etc.)

  • Ability to meet deadlines without exception

  • Ability to create and manage high-performing teams and to deliver feedback effectively

  • Experience in a content-focused role inside an agency is a plus

  • Understanding of demand generation/lead generation techniques and best practices

  • Knowledge of the home improvement or standby home generator industry is a plus

The Salary range for this position is $94,400.00-$119,950.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
