As Brand Director, Commercialization of the US Home Appliance Business (Brands including George Foreman, Russel Hobbes and Black and Decker) you will be leading the charge to become global brand leaders. This role is a key leadership position within the organization, and sits as part of HPC America’s Leadership Team. The incumbent will have responsibility for a team of 6-8 marketers and will drive leadership in optimizing short and long term volume and profit performance for a the Home Appliance portfolio by developing, championing & executing the strategic vision.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive delivery of business objectives for the brand including net sales, operating profit, gross margin, and market share. Ownership of P&L for assigned Portfolio – accountable for performance against plan. 
  • Lead development and execution of Annual Operating Plan 
  • Lead development of brand building initiatives for US in partnership with Brand Communications Group 
  • Provide direction to broader team to ensure that brand initiatives are consistent with Annual Operating Plan. Drive prioritization of resources (people, budget, capital) and keep team focused on core objectives 
  • Deliver “Excellence in Execution” by managing rolling 18 month campaign tied to Annual operating Plan. Execute clear, simple and frequent communication with sales to ensure understanding and best in class execution with retail customers 
  • Leverage knowledge of P&L and collaborate with finance and other partners to bring real time recommendations that protect and grow net sales and operating profits while solving issues that face the business 
  • Identify and lead process improvements at the brand and portfolio level. 
  • Lead 4P strategy for brand (Pricing, Product, Placement, Promotion). Partner with sales on development, communication and execution in a timely manner. 
  • Effectively manage A&P budget. Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand and track consumer and customer effectiveness 
  • Lead Ad hoc reporting and analytics in conjunction with consumer insights group. 
  • Effectively coach and mentor direct reports and total team. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Profile;

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred. 
  • 8+ years of packaged goods brand management experience with a record of increasing responsibility and delivering proven results 
  • 5+ years of profit and loss responsibility, including marketing budget management 
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports 
  • Has managed all four key areas of marketing responsibility (the four “p’s”): product development, pricing, promotion & advertising, and place (channel/distribution strategy)
  • Experience leveraging internal/external business performance data to inform strategic decisions 
  • Has led development and delivery of key account sales presentations

  • Must have ability to analyze complex data and situations and develop a range of simple solutions 
  • Must be able to utilize quantitative, qualitative and syndicated research to develop brand plans 
  • Initiative to seek out, identify and understand trends, issues and best practices in creative storytelling, brand management and consumer engagement, and to share with team and key stakeholders 
  • Must be an excellent presenter, with strong presence and an ability to influence key internal and external customers 
  • Solid understanding of traditional business software applications (MS Office, etc.) 
  • Must have strong ability to interact and collaborate with multiple functions throughout the organization 
  • Strong Team Leadership skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
