Hill+Knowlton Strategies is looking for a talented Brand Journalist to assist the Commissioning Editor in the creation of compelling content for the corporate newsroom of an influential global retail company. The ideal candidate is a strong, experienced writer and researcher who is familiar with social media and SEO tactics, content marketing best practices, video production, and visual storytelling. A background in publishing, journalism, or editorial work is preferred. This role will be based full-time inChicago.

As a Brand Journalist you will:

  • Assist the Commissioning Editor in executing written content that tells compelling corporate narratives on behalf of a global retail company 
  • Pitch ideas for video, visual, web, social and long-form content 
  • Consistently produce omni-channel written content that adheres to client restrictions, SEO and style guidelines, and brand voice 
  • Be up to date on current marketing, advertising, and tech news to make informed content curation decisions 
  • Monitor performance metrics for content and make necessary recommendations to improve performance
  • 4-6 years’ experience as a writer 
  • Undergraduate degree in journalism, English, communications or related 
  • Background in branded content/editorial 
  • Experience developing editorial content within an agency environment a major plus
