Brand Manager will lead the development and implementation of brand plans and P&L for brands in the dairy cheese category to achieve short and long-term business goals. Brand Manager also leads a team comprised of internal marketing employees and external supporting agencies to achieve these goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage the brand planning process by leading and championing the development of the annual brand plan including the brand foundations, strategic valued consumer, marketing challenge, communications goal to guide all brand strategy and communication development, and establish yearly volume targets with corresponding targets for base and incremental business drivers. 
  • Partner in the management of the profit and loss statements (P&L) with full accountability for all consumer marketing budgets and shared responsibility for managing pricing, trade spending, product costs, and volume attainment. 
  • Works with cross-functional team to optimize pricing, link with supply chain to strengthen cost position, and with sales to align trade spending. 
  • Manage brand integrated marketing elements (advertising, packaging, and website) including working with multiple external agencies to refine and execute tactics. 
  • Primary responsibility for driving the business from a brand equity and share growth perspective. 
  • Oversee agency relationships and works to ensure strategic objectives are addressed in creative output. Inspire, train and supervise direct reports.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in marketing or related field. MBA preferred 
  • 3+ years in product or brand management, preferably in consumer package goods 
  • Supervisory responsibility of a marketing team preferred, but not required

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities;

  • Strong strategic ability and consumer insights with a competency in brand equity management, brand communication, brand innovation and developing others 
  • Significant leadership experience, particularly of cross-functional teams 
  • Strong analytical background, with proficiency in syndicated data analysis and income statement management 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in media planning 
  • Ability to manage a wide range of business projects and priorities 
  • Excellent communicator; both verbally and in writing
