Job Summary:

This role is critical to the success of the animal nutrition marketing function at Land O’Lakes and how we achieve our goal of being a high functioning, performance-focused growth engine for the company. This role supports the business by partnering to deliver engagement planning support and day-to-day execution of advertising and other integrated communication programs to achieve business objectives, and help meet timelines and adherence to brand standards.

This person will support the Commercial Livestock Brand Marketing Manager in leading project execution of key Brand Marketing initiatives and using the appropriate LOL systems and processes for efficient project management, recognizing how own work contributes to accomplishing business strategies.

The ideal candidate will have the energy, enthusiasm, attention to detail and work ethic to dive in and get things done, working closely with the Animal Nutrition Brand Team, the Commercial Livestock Brand Marketing Manager, as well as cross-functional partners, in a quick-paced, ever-changing business environment.

Job Responsibilities (in time-allotment order):

1. Execute marketing programs with appropriate internal and external partners, to deliver against brand and communication plan & strategy.

  • Work with our cross-functional teams to understand the return on our marketing communications investments and revise plans as needed. Communication campaigns include but are not limited to the following: advertising (digital, TV, print, social, point-of-sale, etc.), promotions, influencer management, PR, events, website, 1-1 programs, sales/channel collateral, etc. 
  • Help coordinate cross-function collaboration with key project stakeholders to meet project milestones as they relate to the marketing communication strategy and business goals. 
  • Ongoing engagement with Animal Nutrition Digital Marketing Manager, Content Coordinator and Social Media Associate to ensure we are optimally integrating campaign content on website and social properties. 
  • Actively participate in pertinent reoccurring meetings (status’, financial reviews, agile input sessions, planning, etc.)

2. Partner with Brand Marketing Managers to build channel specific engagement plans to maximize investment and drive business growth.

  • Participate in the development of the communications strategy and big ideas, in collaboration with the agency(s) and internal COEs that will drive business growth. 
  • Support annual planning activities for key livestock species.

3. Partner with Marketing Operations and other cross-functional partners to:

  • Assist in maintaining communication budgets, and the review/approval of financial commitments, using LOL systems as appropriate. (i.e. Ariba, Allocadia, others). 
  • Maintain and coordinate campaigns and asset management using LOL systems as appropriate (i.e. Sprinklr, Teams, OneNote, Sharepoint, others)

4. Partner with Internal Analytics team and Agency Partners to:

  • Ensure connectivity between LOL systems (i.e. Allocadia, Sprinklr, Datorama) and our agency partners to enable measurement of in-market activity. 
  • Have a basic understanding of how campaigns are performing in-market. 
  • Provide key inputs and updates to Brand Marketing Manager for Monthly Business Reviews and Executive Summary reports.

Required Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's (preferred) degree in Marketing, Communications, Ag. Communications, Ag. Business-related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • 2+ years’ experience within Ag. Marketing or Communications, preferably with campaign management experience and experience in translating marketing objectives and strategies into engaging creative ideas. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Essential Functions:

  • Executional day-to-day requests and needs of the business as it relates to the Brand will be the focus for this position. 
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid environment - self prioritizing and time managing. 
  • If remote, no travel is required outside of quarterly team meetings.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience in, or passion for, the livestock industry is preferred but not required.
