General Mills is looking for a passionate and creative Brand PR Manager who will actively develop and manage public relations for several of General Mills’ leading brands. This position will partner closely with brand marketing teams while operating within the corporate communication department and serve as day-to-day contact for outside agency partners.

The role requires a high degree of cross-functional collaboration and influencing both inside and outside of the department and interacts regularly with brand partners across the company. All corporate communication manager roles within General Mills’ Global Communications team require a wide range of corporate communications skills and a broad understanding of how they can be utilized in different situations to drive business results.


In this role you will:

  • Developing and executing innovative and creative public relations campaigns for leading General Mills products 
  • Proactively pitching story angles and securing top-tier press coverage across diverse consumer, business and trade publications; directly managing key media relationships 
  • Developing and managing strategic partnerships and influencer programs to enhance brand reputations and sales 
  • Leading day-to-day management of outside agency partners ensuring collaborative and creative results 
  • Defining and executing disruptive PR and experiential strategies as part of General Mills’ product launches 
  • Developing social and emerging media strategies to help drive business objectives 
  • Press release writing, editorial product placement, sample trafficking and media tours


  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 8+ years’ experience in a corporate communications or PR/communications agency developing and implementing corporate brand/PR/communications programs 
  • Proven understanding of a wide range of communications skills, including deep experience in media relations (consumer product media relations experience is a plus), demonstrated experience in issues management, and development of strategic communications processes (planning, project management, writing, and counseling)
