Job Purpose:

The Brand Strategist plays a key role in shaping and sharing the story of The Osthoff Resort through a variety of channels, including social media, print materials, website management, and digital advertising. This position will collaborate with departmental managers to bring fresh ideas and thoughtful strategies to every touchpoint, while staying within AAA 4-Diamond brand expectations. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating trendy content while maintaining brand consistency, knows how to balance big-picture planning with day-to-day details, and enjoys the energy of the hospitality world.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the resort’s brand and devise and implement strategies to meet marketing goals
  • Help shape the resort’s brand by creating engaging campaigns that highlight the resort’s unique offerings and drive interest year-round
  • Establish expectations and guidelines for the company’s voice across all channels
  • Maintain resort website using WordPress, including timely content updates
  • Create and deploy strategies to increase online traffic, search results, conversion rates, brand awareness and sales
  • Create and publish content (including graphics) for company website, brochures, e-blasts, and social media pages maintaining and supporting company brands
  • Responsible for creating, printing, and distributing external and internal communication of all entertainment, promotions and events, and publications
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Managing content calendars and ensuring that the content remains consistent across all platforms
  • Assist with the promotion, coordination, facilitation, and implementation of special events and activities throughout the year
  • Collaborate with other departments to assist in executing their event visions
  • Prepare Marketing activity reports and metrics for measuring campaign ROI
  • Manage marketing budget in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Responsible for displaying a high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgement, and the ability to properly address confidential matters
  • Attend management meetings as needed
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the department Director and/or Executive Team members

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Advertising, or a related field
  • Experience creating a brand and developing and implementing a marketing strategy for a mid-sized business
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 6: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign or other equivalent software for graphic, digital, and print design
  • Experience in video editing with Premier Pro or other equivalent software
  • Experience managing a website using WordPress or other equivalent software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Meta Business Suite
  • Typography in design: knowledge of appropriate typeface/font styles for designing effective advertising communications
  • Pre-press knowledge of printing and production techniques for large format (posters, etc.) and small format (brochures, flyers, etc.)
  • Ability to perform well under changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of multitasking
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule to meet resort needs. This will include some weekends and evenings
