HKS Chicago is currently looking for an energetic connector to establish new client relationships for the firm’s Commercial portfolio. The ideal candidate will create and implement a strategy for expansion, as well as develop and grow HKS’ presence in the Chicago area and the Midwest region. This person will become an identifiable representative of the HKS brand and marketing leader, both externally and internally, focused on developing new business opportunities.

PRACTICE BUILDING:

Develop an expanded practice for HKS design by:

  • Advocating for the positioning of HKS’ multi-dimensional service offerings within the Chicago area and Midwest region’s markets 
  • Building upon the team’s growing design and delivery reputation and promoting their expertise through involvement in boards, industry organizations, and other activities along with fostering relationships with the brokerage, development and direct client communities 
  • Proactively researching, identifying, and qualifying new opportunities that support the strategic goals of the firm 
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the Midwest Commercial market strategy in concert with HKS firm goals and strategic plan 
  • Serving as the responsible and knowledgeable “face” of HKS Chicago when engaging prospective clients or other influencers 
  • Ensuring that the practice evolves in a manner which is consistent with HKS – Chicago goals, core values and design focus 
  • Setting overall project targets, budgets and other key performance indicators 
  • Securing a sufficient number of the appropriate assignments to meet the firm’s overall business goals

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:

  • Establishing new target client engagement strategies and reengagement approaches 
  • Utilizing HKS’ CRM tools to monitor and report on client activity 
  • Maintaining a current understanding of the trends, influences and pressures of Commercial building design in the Chicago area 
  • Working with HKS Market Sector Leaders, Steve Jacobson and the Chicago office leadership to develop a regional strategy for the acquisition of valued clients 
  • Developing cohesive and consistent messaging around the Commercial sector’s design point of view, in collaboration with marketing leaders across the firm 
  • Employing social media to organize targeted marketing campaigns 
  • Positioning HKS Chicago for future commercial design work through strong existing and potential client relationships 
  • Mentoring staff in business development and marketing strategies

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree, Advanced degree preferred. 
  • 5+ years of Architecture Marketing related experience.
