Position Overview:

We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and self-directed individual to take on the critical role of Business Development Manager. In this role, you will focus on keeping our workload pipeline full. The successful candidate will be skilled at creating new business opportunities with clients who value our services and then collaborating with appropriate AG Team members to “close the deal.” In addition, you will continue to further nurture and enhance existing client relationships.

Role Description:

  • Commitment to learning ALL aspects of modern living environments that are designed to enhance the quality of life for every generation of user. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of industry trends that are shaping successful senior living options, multi-family and mixed-use buildings, as well as student housing projects being constructed locally, regionally and nationally. 
  • Become familiar with all the “players” in the development of these kinds of buildings locally, regionally and nationally. 
  • Pre-position our firm with these organizations by seeking out key internal contacts who will keep you abreast of future development plans they may have along with their methodology to procure architectural services. 
  • Become familiar with other industry partners and stakeholders who may be able to influence decisions regarding the selection of design firms. 
  • Develop and maintain strong business network contacts to stay attuned to industry, client and competitors’ activities. 
  • Devise client connection strategies to stay in alignment with our existing and former clients as they continue to adapt to ever-changing market trends and to identify future development opportunities they may be pursuing. 
  • Stay in active communication with the Chief Operations Officer, AG Team leaders and Project Managers to stay on top of any client opportunities or concerns that might arise. 
  • Populate and actively maintain our CRM to document and keep current all key client information. 
  • Work closely with the Chief Design Officer and the firm’s PR/Marketing Team to ensure positive synergy between Marketing and Business Development efforts. 
  • Coordinate collateral materials, trade show participation, speaking engagements. 
  • Manage the completion and delivery of all RFQ and RFP responses. 
  • Participate in the planning of all project interviews. 
  • Report on a monthly and quarterly basis to the Leadership Team to provide an update of Business Development activities and to partner in forecasting the future workload. 
  • Attend and participate in select outings, gatherings, and social events that meet the criteria of enhancing and supporting existing relationships or have a high probability of solidifying new ones. 
  • Establish an annual budget for all Business Development related activities.

Key Qualifications:

  • A proven track record working in a Business Development role. 
  • An ongoing curiosity to learn about environments where people live and what it takes to create both successful solutions and relationships with those who develop them. 
  • A professional demeanor and an entrepreneurial mindset. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that are adaptive to a wide range of personalities. 
  • An ability to be self-motivated and demonstrate the drive to work as a team player. 
  • Completion of a BA/BS in Marketing, Communication, Engineering, Architecture or a related field. 
  • Strong research and data mining capability.
  •  Previous experience in a design related and/or a senior living field. 
  • Proficiency in various marketing related software as well as Microsoft Office. 
  • Reliability and accountability in consistently meeting the expectations of your role.
