We have a new opportunity for a skilled Business Development Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for managing current business relationships and broadening new client contacts. This is a role where on-going business and relationship management is of prime importance. You will maintain these relationships through strong client relationship building and interaction, while growth is expected to come from promoting our engineering services and connecting with new clients.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the Director of Business Development and engineering team leaders to develop big-picture strategies for our various engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the development, design, and construction activity within the communities that we serve, communicating this knowledge to our leadership and staff.
  • Cultivate relationships with current and potential clients, consultants, community leaders, and public officials.
  • Increase the breadth and depth of client relationships, and use these relationships to generate new business in otherwise underserved markets. Generate new leads and relationships, networking across multiple sources, connecting dots, making cold calls, and creating new opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact for our engineers and architects, connecting them to the broader initiatives in practices, sectors, and regions.
  • Make introductions and connect our experts with potential clients.
  • Embrace and clearly articulate the strengths, culture, and brand of our firm to potential clients.
  • Participate and facilitate the participation of staff in professional organizations, conferences, social and PR events, creating recognition and opportunities for our firm and our partners.
  • Organize networking events, both inside and outside of our office.
  • Work within our CRM database to assure the data collected and populated remains current.
  • Participate in and help prepare for interviews and presentations when appropriate. 

Who you are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree preferred and 7-10 years of business development/marketing, engineering, architecture, or related experience.
  • Involvement in and connections within Wisconsin’s A/E/C communities preferred.
  • Highly developed and demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • An engaging personality with the ability to listen to people’s needs and translate those needs into project opportunities.
  • Superior communication, organization, time management, professionalism and people skills are essential in this role with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, create opportunities, shake hands, and make friends.
