POSTION DESCRIPTION:

The Communications and Events Coordinator tells Cornerstone’s story in engaging and compelling ways. This position is an integral member of the Development Team, which is responsible for the implementation of a strategic work plan to achieve Cornerstone’s annual fundraising goal. The Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for fundraising and outreach events and for Cornerstone’s overall communications strategy, including web content and maintenance, marketing and print newsletters, social media, and oversight/management of Cornerstone’s print marketing materials.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement annual communications, ensuring that all communications activities follow brand guidelines 
  • Manage website content development and serve as primary website administrator in collaboration with contracted support team 
  • Write, design and distribute monthly e-newsletter through Constant Contact 
  • Coordinate the production of all Cornerstone print materials, including writing, design, budgeting, maintaining the agency’s inventory of materials and managing relationships with print vendors 
  • Create engaging posts and campaigns on Cornerstone’s social media, taking audience and communications goals into consideration 
  • Track and analyze metrics to measure the effectiveness of current digital marketing efforts and inform future communication strategy 
  • Serve as primary public relations contact, proactively communicating with media outlets, developing press kits and press releases. 
  • Develop and implement annual work plan for the agency’s major in-person or virtual fundraising events, including logistics, budget, program, sponsorships, vendor relationships, attendee registration, promotion and all other communications-related tasks. Serve as day-of contact and prepare financial reports post-event. 
  • Keep up with changing trends, best practices and research in the fields of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and general crime 
  • Build relationships with Cornerstone staff members across the organization to help create high impact content 
  • Other responsibilities as requested by Director of Advancement in support of overall development work at Cornerstone

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in communications 
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design (Adobe Adobe Creative Suite preferred), website management (Wordpress preferred), email marketing (Constant Contact preferred), video production, and event planning

HOURS/SCHEDULE:

This position allows a flexible work schedule which varies based on events, meetings and program needs. The position allows for some remote work, but there will be a substantial number of in-person events and meetings (both internal and external) that will be required for this role. Some events and meetings may be in the evenings or on the weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILL SETS:

  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills, including being a skilled storyteller. 
  • Have a passion for Cornerstone’s mission and the ability to communicate the organization’s mission and vision effectively 
  • Demonstrate the ability to forge and maintain relationships critical to the agency’s future 
  • Independent and self-motivated with strong planning and project management skills, including demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

Salary Range: $48,000- $55,000 Annually.
