POSITION SUMMARY:

Fincantieri Marinette Marine is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to support our Marketing activities utilizing a diverse array of MarComms methods including writing, designing, content creation, event management, interpersonal engagement, photo and video support.

The Communications and Marketing Specialist will play a key role on a dynamic team that brainstorms, creates, develops, and implements various communications and engagement campaigns that position Fincantieri Marinette Marine favorably with internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support the development of content for public affairs, marketing, and employee engagement efforts 
  • Research and write meaningful communications and collateral content, including All Hands, newsletter articles, website content, brochure content, scripts, executive communications, and more 
  • Take photos and video, and edit and develop meaningful deliverables for various audiences 
  • Leverage multiple sources to gather and create content, including interviewing internal subject matter experts and external partners 
  • Proofread and copyedit material created by other team members or business partners and provide recommendations to enhance voice and messaging 
  • Work draft communications through the approval and distribution process, including gathering feedback, anticipating obstacles and opportunities, leveraging insight from other team members, setting deadlines, seeking compliance approval, and collaborating with colleagues to fulfill communication needs 
  • Support in managing high visibility events such as ship christening ceremonies, VIP visits, and other events as necessary 
  • Support the Employee Engagement Manager in promoting positive company culture through recognition and engagement campaigns 
  • Assist in writing press releases, bios, speeches 
  • Contribute to social media efforts 
  • Design and maintain graphic content for employee digital display system. 
  • Manage software system to facilitate information sharing 
  • Meet with all FMG communications colleagues regularly to stay abreast of new business, contribute to strategic planning, and provide relevant updates.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Business, Marketing or related field of study preferred; or any equivalent combination of skills and experience 
  • Five years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations in a defense or business environment 
  • Knowledge and experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite®, including Adobe Photoshop® and Adobe Premiere Pro®, and Canva 
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office programs, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint 
  • Experience with digital content management systems and social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc. 
  • 3-5 years' experience in photography, videography, and editing software

  • Superior writing and editing skills, including ability to research and synthesize information into content that meets the target audience's needs and/or voice of author 
  • Strong organization, time management and productivity skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to frequently changing information and project scope 
  • Creativity, initiative, and good judgment
