The Communications and Membership Specialist owns the electronic messaging of clients and other stakeholders. This role expertly crafts, assembles, and distributes thoughtful digital communications in an ever-changing environment, with consistency, high quality, and originality.

  • Confidently and professionally collaborate to develop and deliver digital newsletters.
  • Develop consistency between all communiques including standardized taglines, key words, fonts, colors, and repeatable steps.
  • Select themes and photos, write and gather articles and features, edit articles and features, while working with various informational sources.
  • Proof, design, and lay out each newsletter issue, manage newsletter subscriptions.
  • Create and edit e-mail blasts, update websites, and post on social media outlets, following a master calendar.
  • Maintain databases, run reports, and disseminate welcome programs.
  • Provide monthly membership data for accounting purposes.
  • Respond to requests for information and assist with solving problems.
  • Work with manager to increase efficiencies and automate.
  • Deliver error free results in a timely manner.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience in writing/editing, and/or marketing
  • Associate’s degree (marketing, communications, or related); equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered
  • Experience in an association or non-profit is a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with MS Office Suite
  • Experience using a database
  • Experience with marketing, newsletter software, and website platforms helpful (e.g., Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, Sales Force, Your Membership, MODX, Word Press or similar programs)
  • Strong written, verbal, listening, informing, and presentation skills Ø Positivity, initiative, interpersonal skills, collaboration
