As Communications and Public Relations Lead, you will manage communications plans and content development that elevates the Rogers Behavioral Health brand internally and in communities nationwide. This includes project planning and management, coordination, writing and editing for employee communications, blogs, press releases, story pitches to members of the media, and management of the Rogers Speakers Forum.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage internal communications. 
  • Plan, develop, and monitor content for intranet and monthly internal employee newsletter. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to research story ideas, interview subject matter experts, write a portion of the stories, and delegate assignments to other team members. 
  • Write internal employee communications including organizational updates, announcements, and event promotion. 
  • Serve as the lead for media relations at Rogers in collaboration with VP. 
  • Proactively pitch story ideas to media that build the Rogers’ brand, promote new programs and locations, bring patient stories to life, provide expert perspectives on mental health topics, and promote events. 
  • Create and distribute press releases and build strong relationships with journalists in each market to position Rogers as the ‘go to’ resources for mental health stories. 
  • Monitor placements and work with other team members to leverage placements in social media and internal communication. 
  • Oversee a Rogers Speakers Forum with designated experts who receive training as needed to represent Rogers in community presentations, media interviews, and CE webinars and seminars. This work is in collaboration with MarCom leaders and team members and system-wide clinical and operational leaders. 
  • Write stories and pitches that provide expert perspectives on mental health topics, feature former patients and families, and communicate significant organizational developments. 
  • Produce internal and external collateral and edit to ensure adherence to style guidelines, strategy, and accuracy. 
  • Provide input to projects with marketing team members on graphic design, social media, community and Rogers events. 
  • Participate in and apply process improvement within the department and in support of the Rogers Operating System work. 
  • Understand and support the Rogers Mission. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in and enthusiasm for media relations. 
  • Expertise in creating written, oral and electronic communications to achieve marketing goals. 
  • Excellent vocabulary, grammar and proofreading skills. 
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft software required; familiarity with design software for editing desirable. 
  • Proficiency in web, print and electronic content development and production processes. 
  • Understanding of healthcare marketing and behavioral health desired.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred, with minimum of seven (7) years related experience. 
  • Proficiency in and enthusiasm for media relations. 
  • Expertise in creating written, oral and electronic communications to achieve marketing goals. 
  • Excellent vocabulary, grammar and proofreading skills. 
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft software required; familiarity with design software for editing desirable. 
  • Proficiency in web, print and electronic content development and production processes. 
  • Understanding of healthcare marketing and behavioral health desired. 
  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
