Position Details

Communications Coordinator

In this position, you become a key and essential part of the Global Communications team for Danfoss Power Solutions. You will perform a variety of administrative and/or coordinating activities for the Global Vice President of Communications and Marketing, at the same time you will drive projects to advance the organization and its visibility inside and outside Danfoss Power Solutions. As an Executive Communications Coordinator on this team, you will become a member of the Communications Leadership Team, supporting the strategic direction of this function and the business. You will interact with all departments, functional areas, and divisions, performing certain special activities and/or projects as may be assigned and related to the overall function involved. In this role you will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion; in this case, the Executive Communication Coordinator must exercise restraint and tact.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive projects to support the administration and visibility of the organization, including social media, writing articles, arranging external conferences, etc. 
  • Proactively plan and formulate written materials e.g. briefs, analysis and reports, and produce content and graphic design of presentations for internal and external meetings and key speaking opportunities. 
  • Works closely and effectively with the VP to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately. Acts as a "barometer," having a sense for the issues taking place in the environment and keeping the President updated. 
  • Provides leadership to build relationships crucial to the success of the organization and manages a variety of special projects for the VP, some of which may have organizational impact. 
  • Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks for VP including: Drive the agenda setting for Communications meetings by preparing materials, managing an extremely active calendar of appointments; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for travel-related meetings. 
  • Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, transmitting but also drafting text, data, and graphics based on involvement in meetings and projects. 
  • Communicates directly, and occasionally on behalf of the VP with direct reports, Board members, employees and others on matters related to VP´s initiatives. 
  • Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues, meeting actions and concerns addressed to the VP including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action, referral, or response. 
  • Provides a bridge for smooth communication between the VPs office and internal departments; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support with senior management staff. 
  • Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures

Background & Skills:

  • Experience assisting at the executive level in an international environment 
  • Absolute discretion regarding company, departmental and other proprietary and sensitive information is essential 
  • Knowledge of how to use social media and other medias to advocate for the organization 
  • Communications and marketing experience/background and ability to drive projects 
  • Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a smile and a sense of humor 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills 
  • Strong reporting, organization, and planning skills 
  • Customer-oriented with a sincere desire to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and team spirit of the department 
  • Open-minded and innovative with ability to be flexible and use sound judgment 
  • Self-motivated, driven, and able to work well independently 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions, countries and hierarchies.


  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting senior leadership functions as Project Assistant 
  • The successful position holder will have a high energy level, a willingness to get involved in many different aspects of the business - some beyond the assigned executive assistant duties; an outgoing, friendly personality and an ability to deal effectively across all levels of employees. 
  • Experience working with financial information is required. 
  • Attending some of the leadership meetings will require international travel. 
  • Proven experience managing and driving projects 
  • Experience in communications is appreciated 
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams 
  • Ability to learn new computer software programs for office management requirements like Concur, etc. 
  • Excellent written, oral and communication skills in English. Other languages are welcome.
