Lincolnwood Public Library is seeking a creative-minded Communications Coordinator who is passionate about both digital and print media as well as new and upcoming advertising. Candidates should be interested in what makes someone share and how people communicate. This position is focused on print and digital marketing strategies through creating content that is delightful, interesting, original, and engaging to audiences of all ages. The ideal candidate is comfortable being involved in every part of the creative process, from generating ideas using a variety of formats for a wide range of services and programs to participating in patron and staff communication all while handling revisions with ease and a smile.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires expertise acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or creative degree. Minimum 3 years marketing experience in a comparable organization or library is necessary.

Skills:

Design

Ability to effectively use industry standard design and editing software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere.

Video and Animation Production

Considerable knowledge of videography and photography including recording/capturing, editing, and exporting. Digital animation skills preferred.

Digital Marketing

Knowledge and understanding of email communication and social media management. Website management experience preferred.

Statistics

Evaluate the effectiveness of the library’s digital communication tools, including department equipment. Work with the Head of Marketing to create goals or recommendations for each when appropriate.

Communication and Leadership

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Possess interpersonal skills for working with patrons, vendors, library staff, and the general public. Project management skills preferred; time management skills absolutely necessary.

Salary is $22/hour depending on qualifications & education, plus a competitive benefits package, including a 457(b)-retirement plan.
