Communications Coordinator

Eden Prairie, MN

Starkey is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our Corporate Communications team. This position will work in Marketing to ensure strategic communications plans and campaigns are developed and integrated for Starkey. These activities will be integrated with Starkey’s overall marketing activities and company communications. This role collaborates closely across teams, including sales, product marketing, Human Resources, events and executive leadership. This role is located in Eden Prairie, but will work remotely until further notice due to the COVID pandemic.

Performance of Duties:

  • Collaborate with team to execute integrated communications strategy, including social media, email marketing, and earned media. 
  • Write and create organic and paid social media content, including collaborating with creative department to build assets, deploying, and optimizing. 
  • Engage with social media community, including responding to comments and questions. Collaborate with internal partners, such as customer service, to provide accurate information.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across owned, earned, paid and social media, to ensure consistency in messaging across multiple platforms and to identify efficiencies for creation and distribution of content. 
  • Work closely with internal partners to create assets and messaging based on platforms and target audiences. 
  • Stay abreast of changing digital marketing trends.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field
  • Experience: 2-3 years experience in Social Media, Public Relations, Communications or Marketing required.


  • Knowledge of computer tools required 
  • Knowledge of market analysis tools required 
  • Knowledge of media databases and media monitoring tools

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English required 
  • Ability to work and travel independently as required 
  • Strong working understanding social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram required. 
  • Comfortable executing “live” social media. 
  • Experience writing for B-to-B, B-to-C and internal audiences preferred 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize, multi-task and meet expected deadlines. 
  • Analytical problem solving, curiosity and acontinuous improvement mindset 
  • Strong ability to collaborate with team members required

Job holder may have some travel (less than 10%); Occasional evening and weekend work is probable.
