The Communications Director performs a wide range of duties and serves as the marketing communications lead for the Alumni Association and Office of Alumni Relations. The incumbent will be responsible for building and executing a proactive marketing communications strategy that effectively positions the UWMAA brand with key stakeholders. This position will supervise a full-time data specialist, full-time sponsorship manager, part-time graphic designer, and a student communication assistant in addition to serving as the lead staff person to the UWMAA Board of Trustees Marketing Committee.

Minimum Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree at time of appointment.
  • Minimum of 5 years in marketing, public relations, communications, or nonprofit management.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful integrated marketing campaigns including digital, social media and print.
  • Evidence of superior communication skills (verbal and written). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience managing communications and marketing in the nonprofit or higher education sector.
  • Experience developing and monitoring budgets
  • Evidence of success working effectively with diverse constituencies and in a team environment.
  • Management experience.
  • Experience working with events and programs.
  • Evidence of excellent relationship building skills.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
