Summary of Role:

The Communications Intern will be responsible for supporting communications to many of CROPP’s key stakeholder groups including farmers, employees, investors and our local communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Writing audience-specific messages across a variety of formats including, but not limited to, newsletter articles, intranet (CROPPIE) stories, Rootstock blog posts , social media posts, longer-form backgrounder and/or briefing documents, postcards and display screen contents. 
  • Curation and upgrade of a modular PowerPoint resource library.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Publication design and art production. 
  • Video and audio recording, editing and production. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation required. 
  • Coursework in writing and design required. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required. 
  • Currently working towards a degree in communications, marketing or journalism, preferred. 
  • Experience with Adobe creative suite applications, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Pro DC and Premiere Pro preferred. 
  • Ability to prioritize workload and responsibilities effectively. 
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Interest in organic and working with farmers and cooperative business model preferred.
