You'll join a staff of dedicated people making a lasting difference! St. Marcus’ Mission Advancement (MA) Team is responsible for all fundraising and communications for St. Marcus School and Church. As the Communications Intern, you will work independently and in partnership with St. Marcus’ Communications Specialist and MA Team.

The Communications Intern will develop relevant messages and engaging stories for written and visual content. Projects range from writing short articles and social media posts to crafting clever copy for auction items featured at the Annual St. Marcus Gala in November. You will be asked to set goals, track your own progress, and meet agreed upon deadlines.

  • You’re creative and curious
  • You’re very comfortable talking with students and working with diverse populations
  • You’re a self-starter who can juggle multiple projects
  • You’re an excellent writer and editor

You are able to...

  • Assist with communication strategy
  • Attend in-person meetings
  • Conduct interviews with students and/or parents
  • Produce excellent written communication for articles, social media, etc.
  • Set project goals, organize time, and track progress
  • Work an average of 10-15 hours per week (weekday mornings preferred)
  • Begin the week of August 19th (or shortly after)

Your Qualifications:

  • You’re a student pursuing a degree/training in communications, social media, journalism or a related field
  • You can provide examples of written work (video and/or design work a plus)
  • You are passionate about quality education for children in Milwaukee and want to get to know the St. Marcus community

This is a PAID internship ($11/hour).
