Job Summary:

This Communications Lead Consultant is primarily accountable for developing and executing the strategic plan, transformation and governance for the agency communications platform while working to meet future needs. This work includes, but is not limited to communication counsel, planning and execution, enterprise business partner services, business system stakeholder management and conference content and communication vehicle delivery to improve business partner engagement. The ideal candidate will be a change agent, strategic visionary and have a strong people leadership background with experience in a cross functional team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy development:

  • Develops communication strategies to support new plans, programs & processes 
  • Solicits and integrates input from key stakeholders 
  • Proactively evaluates procedures and processes regularly and determines/recommends alternatives or improvements 
  • Ensures processes are followed and applied consistently throughout team/department 
  • Evaluates and implements process improvements to internal and external compliance requirements/standards

Project Management:

  • Consistently plans, implements, manages, and/or sponsors projects of moderately high to high complexity 
  • Forecasts short-term and long-term deliverables cross functionally 
  • Formulates strategies to achieve plan objectives 
  • Communicates and presents project information to project team as well as providing presentation/updates to senior level management 
  • Actively builds strong relationships among teams and team members to ensure cooperation on project objectives 
  • Manages all-project-related expenses 
  • Supports governance process

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • This job does not have direct reports

Education and Experience:

  • 7+ years experience required 
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred (Communication, English, or Journalism a plus) 
  • Previous management experience a plus

Functional Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Strong communication and project management skills required 
  • Strategic and critical thinking required
