Job Purpose/Role:

The Communications Manager defines and executes internal communications strategies and plans in support of highly visible organizational initiatives. This person will be able to develop and translate key messaging across all communication tactics, including: executive level presentations, emails, articles, talking points, posters and internal ads, to help drive business objectives. This person will lead the strategy and continuous optimization of various existing digital communication technologies, and champion and drive adoption of new technology and tools to meet evolving business and communication needs. This person will be proficient to expert in various communications technologies and tools, including: content management systems, intranet, PowerPoint, etc. and demonstrate a proven ability to apply new technology effectively in a communications function. The communications manager will also support the Internal Communications senior director in coaching senior leaders on communications strategy and delivery, and be a key contact and consultant in the corporate communications department during crisis situations. The communication manager will serve as back-up to the senior director of Internal Communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defines and executes communications strategies and plans to support business objectives and initiatives which includes developing and translating key messaging across all communication tactics, including: executive level presentations, emails, articles, talking points, posters and internal ads, to help drive business objectives. 
  • Leads the strategy and continuous optimization of various existing digital communication technologies, and champion and drive adoption of new technology and tools to meet evolving business and communication needs. 
  • Provides leadership to indirect reports to accomplish results, and serves as a back-up to the senior director of Internal Communications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6-7 years experience required; 
  • 8-10 years experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Marketing, English, Journalism or Communications preferred
  • Prior experience working on an intranet platform
  • Strong writing and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong technical aptitude
