Position Summary:

The Communications Manager partners with Marketing and Human Resources team members to design and execute high impact communications that inform and inspire all Daikin stakeholders, inside and outside the company. This person will transform communications from a back seat to a driving strategy that empowers all employees to engage in the business and grow our brand. The role serves both internal and external audiences: internally, s/he will develop an employee communications strategy and plan that inform, inspire and connect Daikin Applied employees across North America; externally, her/his efforts will gain stakeholder recognition and reinforce Daikin as the leading HVAC solutions provider in North America.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Shape and enhance the organization's culture and engagement through developing strategy and delivering enhanced corporate communications 
  • Drive awareness and understanding of our vision, direction and commitment to both employees and customers. 
  • Author corporate press releases, organizational announcements, HR policies, executive team communications, webcasts; edit all corporate communications authored by BU leaders 
  • Align communications with brand promise, voice and identity 
  • Redevelop, launch, and manage the employee portal; measure and optimize effectiveness 
  • Work with business unit leaders to draft and edit announcements supporting their specific initiatives 
  • Work with PR agency to manage media strategies and relationships 
  • Track and measure effectiveness of communication efforts and optimize in real time 
  • Support business unit and executive leaders in the development of presentations 
  • Support the marketing team (content and events) in delivering superior customer experiences that create impact and improve our brand presence 
  • Identify and promote practices that build our communications practice and enhance employee engagement through communications 
  • Establish and scale an internal communications strategy that cascades executive messages and is aligned with business goals and company culture 
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders 
  • Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form. 
  • Manage organizational change to lead cross-disciplinary initiatives with Marketing and Human Resources. 
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums to reach all employee populations. 
  • Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in liberal arts, journalism, communications or marketing required 
  • 8+ years' marketing and/or business writing experience 
  • Public relations, employee engagement experience 
  • Outstanding written communication skills; published writing samples will be required 
  • High degree of professionalism with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
  • Desire to collaborate with diverse organizational partners, particularly within the Marketing team, which is known as a go-to resource across the organization 
  • Ability to influence in multiple ways and build credibility quickly with key stakeholders and peers 
  • Outstanding ability to capture the executive's voice and elevate their content and presence 
  • Ability and agility to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment confidence and poise to work closely with senior executives

Preferred qualifications:

  • B2B marketing and social media experience 
  • Change management experience 
  • Experience on a team that has built and scaled an internal communications program at a complex, global organization
