We are currently seeking a Communications Manager to support transportation-focused projects. Candidate must be a critical thinker with the ability to multi-task with excellent communication and client relations skills. This person will develop strategies for public education and outreach campaigns intended to reach diverse audiences using a combination of traditional and emerging resources. Experience with virtual public engagement is preferred but not required.

Must be able to work collaboratively with project and design team to develop and carry out communications strategies that shape highly technical information into digestible messaging for targeted public consumption. Will create and implement social and digital education strategies, aligning community partnerships and identifying external forums to convey client stories and support thought leadership strategies.

We are looking for both a thinker and doer who can not only provide counsel to our client but roll up their sleeves do the work. This person must be able to identify key stakeholders including diverse audiences, community leaders, elected leaders and opinion leaders to ensure the right message is being developed and delivered in an effective way.

Proven experience building coalitions, engaging stakeholders and managing communications needs is critical to this position’s success. Experience managing and analyzing customer interactions with a CRM platform like Salesforce is a plus. Experience with transportation policy preferred but not required.

  • Strong communications skills and ability to meet client expectations on tight deadlines 
  • Able to track multiple tasks for multiple projects to keep projects on time and within budget 
  • Strong writing skills and ability to work with design team to produce targeted collateral materials

Job Requirements:

  • 4+ years professional experience in the areas of communications, marketing and transportation. If no transportation experience must have significant experience with stakeholder outreach and engagement. 
  • In-depth experience engaging stakeholders, building coalitions and managing communications needs
  • Bachelor’s degree

Salary $55,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
